The song reached a new peak at No. 8 in the Hot 100 chart in the week his album The World from the Side of the Moon debuted in the Billboard 200 chart in November. It climbed to No. 7 a week later, dropped to No. 8 and No. 9 in subsequent weeks in December and January, then resumed its ascent to a new peak at No. 6 in mid-January 2013. This song reached its 5 million sales mark in the US in March 2014.

” You may think of home sweet home, cozy, comfortable, joy, fun, family, relaxing by a fireplace, or happiness. However, if you are an individual who has suffered a brain injury, you may not think of home this way. As do many clients initially, you may think of it as work, a source of stress, frustration, anxiety, overwhelming, and piles upon piles of items or papers.
The lyrics to them related so well to the shocking loss, that it felt as if my dad was talking to us. It is no secret that transitioning from high school to college is difficult. No matter how excited you were to get away from home, reality hit at some point.

Even though you went separate ways, there is an unspoken rule that you are still always there for each other. Phases of not talking or seeing each other because of business and stress would come and go. Even though you physically grew apart, you did not grow apart as friends. When one of you was in a funk, as soon as it was over, you bounced right back.

Even a person who has grown up in the same house their entire life, can feel like their house is just a house - a building devoid of home. It made me think of my high school self, moving from one place to the next.
I recall many road trips, with my headphones in, considering the concept, wondering if I'd ever find home, or if I just had many. I wanted to be able to define home, but it wasn't an obvious house or location. "This is big," my friend said as a group of us piled into her car. "Take me home." Her phone responded with directions back to campus. My friend grew up on the other side of the world in China, so our Midwestern college now qualifying as home was certainly smile-worthy.

After the release of the song, Phillips said that while the song and its writers are "really good", "it's not really something I would write". He also revealed that he had wanted to use a song he co-wrote with his brother-in-law, "Drive Me," as the coronation song. In the beginning of the song, he sings, “Hold on to me as we go, as we roll down this unfamiliar road.” In the beginning of our community based OT journey, you may hear us say the same. We want to help you get back to the things you want to do, but have been unable to. Sometimes that may mean literally holding on to our arm for the first time walking into a store since your injury.
